Our Story: A Holiday Tradition for a Great Cause
For families in the Third Schools community—Third Academy, LYNX, and ursa—Run Santa Run! has been a cherished holiday tradition since 2010.
It all started as a joyful fundraiser to directly benefit our students. The recipe was simple: participants gathered pledges, donned Santa suits, and joined friends and family for a festive run or walk along the downtown Bow Valley corridor.
It was a wonderful day of laughter, fresh air, and community spirit, all while supporting an excellent cause.
Adapting to New Challenges
Like many traditions, ours faced recent hurdles. The “Grinch” of COVID-19 paused large gatherings, and we lost our long-time home base with the demolition of Eau Claire Market.
But the holiday spirit is hard to stop! Thanks to a team of incredibly dedicated and innovative volunteers, the tradition of Run Santa Run! continues. We’ve adapted, evolved, and are thrilled to carry on this special event for our students.
